Networked Physical Access Control System (PACS)
The first smart card enabled physical access control system designed for the new world of identity management, the BridgePoint PACS combines the Federal Identity Smart Cards (CAC and FASC) with biometrics for secure authentication. Developed under guidance from the U.S. Army SET-D group, the PACS delivers the optimal solution for meeting dynamic threat levels by integrating biometrics and the user PIN with the CAC for 3-factor building access.
The BridgePoint PACS meets International and U.S. Government Smart Card Interoperability standards, including ISO-7816, GSC 2.1 and the TIG for Smart Card Enabled Access Control Systems published by the Federal IAB. The system is currently available in contact card applications and will soon be available for contactless cards.
The PACS can utilize readers that are Card only, Card + PIN and Card + PIN + Biometric within the same system, making it possible to implement very high security on some doors while deploying lower cost readers on other doors for maximum cost-performance. Based on the threat level, the system administrator can dynamically change the authentication factors that are required for access on a door-by-door and individual by individual.
The PACS has features other systems do not offer. Visitor smart cards can be issued for temporary use and the BridgePoint single door Access System can be integrated in a stand-alone application, expanding the effectiveness of the networked system while saving the cost of a long cable run to integrate a single remote door.

The BridgePoint Physical Access Control System can manage up to 64 doors with 9 different levels of access for each door being defined by time-of-day, day-of-week and access credential(s) required. These parameters can be changed in minutes when a threat-level condition may necessitate a change in the credentials required for access.

The BridgePoint PACS Software and Registration Workstation is used to register CAC/FASC cardholders, issue Visitor Cards, set access restrictions and maintain a database of users and activities.
Unlike competitive software, PACS is extremely simple and efficient to use.
The PACS Software reduces registration time by importing administrative information from the CAC or FASC Card including cardholder name, CUID number and SEWIG Number (if applicable). The administrator can enter additional data including the cardholder's address and access privileges. PACS prints many different access control activity reports.
