The Bridgepoint Access Cards are loaded with capability, the most important of which is security.
From the initial concept we worked with our silicon supplier to deliver the most robust security
available in a low cost smart card platform. By designing in security we did not forget flexibility
or convenience. In fact, the User Access Card offers the following features:
- A financial purse zone
- A physical access control zone
- A history log zone
- 3 levels of read/write security
These features result in a solution that is flexible, secure and expandable to new applications.
Competitive systems do not offer this flexibility.
BridgePoint Factory and Management Cards are used to set-up a system, alter settings, and audit usage.
Typical functions include the setting of customer and site information, setting vend price and
programming machine operating parameters. Some Management Cards must be ordered pre-programmed
from BridgePoint, while others may be programmed by the customer using BridgePoint software.
BridgePoint smart cards are extremely cost competitive when considering the superior security
and convenience they provide.

There are three types of smart cards used in the SmartLaundry and PeopleAccess systems:
User Access Cards, Factory Cards and Management Cards.
Factory and Management Cards provide a number of functions including initializing Readers,
changing parameters such as pricing, and auditing activities such as transactions.
Factory Cards come preprogrammed from BridgePoint. Management Cards can be programmed
(and reprogrammed) by the customer in the field.
A brief description of the three types of cards is provided below:
- User Access Card - The User Access Card is programmed by BridgePoint with
the initial customer number, card ID number, LaundryMoney functionality,
read/write security keys, customer code and site code. Using BridgePoint software,
the system operator is able to program access control lists and add or delete value.
Features of the advanced User Card includes:
- Maintains history log of most recent 10 transactions
- Programmed with LaundryMoney capability
- Maintains access control profiles
- Three levels of key security and multiple key sets within one customer and site
- Completes transactions within 10 milliseconds
- Factory Cards:
- Service Card: - Used to access service mode in PeopleStation Terminals
- Settings Card - Personalizes Reader with customer number, site codes; cycle price; and security settings
- Price Card - Changes price only
- Programming Card - Sets cycle time; cool down time; top-off time and temperatures
- Start Card - starts free test cycle
- Stop Card - stops test cycle
- Management Cards:
- PeopleStation Audit Card - audits value-add transactions
- PeopleAccess Audit Card - audits door activities
- Reader Commands Card - set PeopleAccess table profiles for granting door access
- Import Reader Restrictions - audits the actual PeopleAccess table profiles
- Export Hot List - uploads Hot Listed card ID Nos. to PeopleAccess Readers
