Smart Card Readers
 |
At BridgePoint we build the broadest range of FIPS-201 Readers in the industry and we have been
building these readers longer than anyone. We have installed hundreds of CAC Readers in dozens of DoD
facilities in the U.S., integrating with many Wiegand and RS-485 formats. We have the experience to
assist your migration to CAC and PIV building access to comply with FIPS-201 and HSPD-12.
Available in Contact or Contactless formats, our CAC Wiegand Readers interoperate with any
Federal PIV Card or CAC Card and can integrate with any third party open system provider regardless
of the Wiegand communication format. Our Readers are based on FIPS-201 standards and employ patented
re-programmable architecture so they are forward-compatible as future card data models are introduced.
All BridgePoint CAC and PIV Readers meet applicable international and U.S. Government standards including:
- ISO-7816
- ISO-14443
- GSC 2.1
- IAB Technical Implementation Guidance for Smart Card Enabled Physical Access Control Systems
- NIST FIPS-201
- NIST SP 800-073
And equally important, our readers are designed to withstand the abuse and environment
encountered in real-world security.
