PIV Compatible and Alternative Credentials
At some point, federal agencies or facilities eventually find themselves needing to issue credentials for temporary use. To accommodate this need, the Federal CIO office has developed a guideline entitled “Personal Identity Verification Interoperability for Non-Federal Issuers (PIV-I).” PIV-I provides for entities external to the U.S. Government to be able to issue smart card credentials that are either interoperable of compatible with Government issued PIV credentials.
BridgePoint offers a suite of PIV Compatible smart card credentials for all types of applications and budgets. These credentials include contact only, contactless only and dual-interface contact/contactless cards with features ranging from low security to strong authentication.
BridgePoint also provides TrustAlert Software applications that, depending on the credential selected, enable the customer to personalize the credential with certain information, reset the PIN, etc.
BridgePoint can print and configure the credentials for the customer or allow the customer to perform this operation. The table below outlines the various features and functions by type of Compatible Credentials.
